Mona, the founder, creative artist and maker behind Lakoo, is an Iranian born designer whose lifelong passion for flowers, art and craftsmanship inspired the creation of the brand. Lakoo means “daughter” or “girl” in the Gilaki language, spoken in the northern region of Iran along the Caspian Sea in Gilan — a region known for its lush landscapes, forests, and rich cultural heritage.
For Lakoo Designs founder Mona, the name holds deep emotional meaning. Her grandmother, from Gilan near the Caspian Sea, lovingly called her “Lakoo” as a term of endearment, a simple word that reflected warmth, love and connection within the family.
